Doe Harvest With A Bow
Well, I have to say. I am very happy because I was able to harvest my very first deer with archery hunting here in PA. I have been seeing several small bucks and several does but couldn't get anything to come within range.
I was hunting one of the more productive stands late one evening and had seen several doe in and out of the area. One doe in particular stayed around for a while eating in the area. It finally came within range and I was able to get an arrow in her.
At the advice of my dad, we decided to let her lay as it was almost 7:00pm and I wasn't sure I had made a good shot or not. I thought I had hit her alittle bit back from where I needed to hit her. So, the next day, we set out to find her. We located her about 60 yards from my stand. It was cold enough that night to leave her as to not spoil the meat. WOW!! I was so excited! I couldn't believe it.
