Picture Of Another Buck

I have a picture from my cousin's wife Amy who was able to harvest this nice 7 point Buck during rifle season here in Pa. Check out this buck picture.

It is now the 2nd season of archery and the start of muzzleloader season. I have my deer cameras out scouting for me to see what bucks made it through the season. I hope the 2 nice 8 points that I filmed in August made it, they are nice bucks and I haven't heard of anyone getting them but you never know.

I will keep you posted with any pictures as I get them.

Best of luck on your next hunt,

Rifle Season Is Over

Rifle Season here has just finished up and we will just have to wait for Muzzleloader which will be coming up shortly. My cousins wife was able to get a 7 point buck on the last Saturday of rifle. I haven't seen it yet, hopefully they send me a picture to post. I will be putting the scouting cameras back out to see what bucks made it through the season. This should be interesting.

I was contacted by the inventor of the 4 in 1 Scrapemaker this week and I am going to be field testing his product. This is an interesting product as it enables you to do alot of different things with just one tool. It is used to make mock scrapes and from all the testimonials on his page. I can see that alot of people really like it and used it with great success. I will also be adding it to my product line so look for it to be coming to my store shortly.

I will keep you posted about any pictures we get and also how the next season goes.

Here's a run down of the deer my family harvested.
Dad - doe
Mike - button buck
Mom - doe
Kathy - button buck
Me - button buck
Squale - Buck
T.J. - Buck and doe
Amy - Buck and doe

Not to bad for a couple of weeks.

One more chance...

Well, only a few more days left to harvest that big buck running around. We have Friday and Saturday left here in PA to get the buck. It has been cold here and snowing quite a bit so I know the deer should be moving to find food. I will be out and looking for those antlers in the woods.

A friend of the family harvested a really nice 10 point buck last Saturday. His name is Bruce. It has a nice spread about 21 1/2 inches I believe they said it was. There is suppose to be a few more bucks in that area that could be comparable to this one. I hope they are moving for me if I get over there to hunt.

The snow we received will be nice to track and see the deer when they are moving. It should help out alot. The temps here have been cold. We were at 12 degrees last night at one point when I checked. Pretty cold. Okay, I will keep you posted if we harvest anymore deer.

We cleaned house...I mean deer down.

The first Saturday of rifle season here in Pa came and went but not without a some gun fire. My family was back at it on Saturday in search of the deer. We went to a location that we have hunted for years and it was productive. We had deer moving bright and early, however, we couldn't quite get them in front of anyone. We decided to put on a drive and have my sister and brother-in-law push towards what we call "the big field". The started to push towards us and nothing was moving for us so we decided to set up on the big field and have them push the bottom of the field. We have done this so many times in the past, I can't even count..sometimes we get deer out of there and sometimes we don't. While my sister was making her way down the bottom, my dad indicated to my brother there are two deer heading his way. Right then, my brother and I are standing only about 30 yards away. So, I get ready. I look over and see Mike putting up his gun, then down it goes, then up. I was watching the entire time, but I was unable to see anything. Finally, he put his gun up and it stayed up. I heard a shot and then another shot. The whole time I am looking and trying to find the deer he is shooting at. Nothing. Then my dad says they headed out of there. My dad and brother went to see if he got anything. They looked and looked but nothing. So, he took his spot back on the big field. My sister is ready and they begin to push the bottom. On this day, I was hoping we did get some deer out of there. But, we didn't.

So, now we are all on the big field except my mom and brother-in-law. We then hear my mom say she just saw a spike. We wait a few minutes and hear a couple of shots down towards her location. We then hear her again on the radio saying, "It's down" She had just got her doe and it was down. Great!! One doe taken. We started to move towards my mom and help her. She then stated there were a couple more deer with the one she shot and they were moving the other way. My sister wants to move to her and then push towards us as we make our way to the cars for the morning. We set up and she begins her push. Then, a shot and my brother says deer are moving to the north. What, straight to me, yes. I am ready. I run towards the top of the field and I see one deer, two deer and they are running right up the edge of the corn field. Okay, they are gone. My brother makes his way to the deer to see if he did infact hit anything. He did and his doe was down...well, a button buck really.

Okay, my sister has her deer, my mom has hers, my brother has his. My dad got his doe in archery. My brother-in-law harvested his buck in archery. I am the only one left. What!!

My turn...we decide to go to another popular spot we have hunted for years to put on another drive for me. We set up and wait for everyone to start. As they are coming towards me, I hear a four wheeler. I believe it to be my cousin. As it gets closer, I hear lost of noise coming over the hill. Deer!! One, two. I take aim and they take off on a run. I pull my gun up and place the crosshairs for a shot. One shot and down. Nice. There were 5 other deer with this deer and I get the button buck. But..my deer is down. Finally, everyone has filled their tags.

Overall, we harvested 6 deer this season and my brother-in-law still has his doe tag left with a week to go. Well have to see if we can't get him a doe this week.

Until then,

Best of luck on your next hunt,
