Scent Elimination - Pre-Hunting Routine

I am going to talk about what you need to do before you even get into the woods for hunting. In my last post, I talked about scent elimination and your hunting clothes. I am now going to talk about your routine before you get ready to go into the woods. The first step would be to make your body as scent free as possible. I accomplish this by using the chloroflage body scent elimination pills. You take these pills 3-5 days before your hunt to help eliminate your scent. This also comes in handy if you get home one night and decide to go hunting. You have already been taking the pills to help eliminate your body odor so you can feel good about going into the woods.
The next thing you should do when I get up in the morning is to make sure you either shower or wash up really well. You want to remove any scent or smell that you have on your body.

The next step would be to use a scent free deoderant. I currently use the deerodorant to help accomplish this.

You should then think about your breath. Yes, we all want to have fresh breath in the morning, but do we want the deer to smell our breath. Well, I do not have to worry about this because I use whatever toothpaste I want to in the morning. How can I do that? Because after I brush my teeth, I get to chew this gum that will eliminate my breath odor. I use the gum-o-flage scent elimination gum so I don't have to worry about the deer smelling my breath in the woods.
It can be very effective in eliminating coffee breath, smokers breath, or any other strong bad breath odor.

If you follow any of these steps that I have talked about above, you will definitely increase your chances of seeing more deer in the woods.

Before you set foot into the woods for your next hunt, think about a few of these steps above.

I hope you have a successful hunt.

Scent Elimination - How Important Is It?

So, when you think about scent elimination, what are your thoughts? I think about being scent free so that deer cannot smell me. Some people believe it is total scent elimination and that involves your morning shower, soap that you use, where you put on your clothes, where your clothes are stored, putting on special scent, making a scent trail while you walk, placing scent near your stand and on and on. Scent elimination is just not one thing that you need to do. It does mean that you need to prepare to be scent free, even before you wake up in the morning.

Before you even think about going hunting you should prepare for your hunt. This would involve washing your hunting clothes in special scent free laundry soap. Next, you would need to dry those clothes with dryer sheets that are made specifically for you hunting clothes. After you get those clothes out of the dryer, they need to go immediately into a zip locked bag. This bag will help keep the scent from getting to your clothes. I place a scent waifer in with my clothes to help keep the scent in my clothes. This is all the pre-hunt routine things that need accomplished before you even begin to take your first steps toward the woods.

Next time I will talk about your body and helping to eliminate your own body odor before you get into the woods. If you want to check out some scent elimination products that will assist you in your hunt, visit http://www.howtoagedeer.com/scentelimination.html
