Spring is Arriving, Finally!

Hi everyone,

What a terrific week we have had here in Pa. Spring is finally getting here with the warmer temperatures in the upper 60's and 70's last week. What a relief. I thought the cold temps were going to stay forever. Now that we have the warmer temperatures, there is no reason for you not to get out and look for those deer antlers. I have been out looking but have not produced any antlers as of yet. This is a great time to take a kid out into the woods and let them enjoy what nature has to offer. Remember, antler sheds are nice to have. I just learned this new tip that rattling larger antlers will attract a larger buck to your hunting stand. Did you know that? I didn't. I am going to try it this fall during bow hunting to see if this statement is true. I'll let you know how I did with my larger antlers while rattling. Get out in the woods and look for those antlers!

Update:
Cold weather has hit us once again in Pa. We had 50's and 60's here on Tuesday and Wednesday but then we were hit with cold temps and some more snow. It is only 22 degrees right now and we have received about 5 inches of new snow. Hopefully, we get those warmer temperatures back next week. Turkey season is fast approaching for us, end of April. Get out and start scouting around. Find those birds so you can be ready for the first day.

I am going to try and get out to scout again today. I need to also check my cameras. We haven't been getting alot of photos as of late. I think the deer are using different trails this time of year. I will be moving the cameras to another area where we have been seeing more tracks. I will keep you posted.

Howtoagedeer.com Coyote Photos

I wanted to share with everyone a recent photo of my cousin, Tom. He was coyote hunting and just happened to get one. Check out these photos of his coyote. Pretty cool.

Well, I was out scouting around today, looking for deer antler sheds. No, I didn't find any. I didn't even have any photos on my deer cameras. I need to move them to another area and catch the deer entering the field to look for food.

I did find some turkey tracks which is a good sign because that is my next hunting experience. I did hunt even more than I ever had last year for turkey. I even got a field shot at a Tom but I missed. You live and you learn. I saw a ton of turkeys but only one cooperated enough to come close enough for me to shoot. I saw turkeys in the field, in the trees, and from my upper window of my house with my binoculars. It's pretty cool to look out the window and see turkey eating in the field. This is the same window that I see deer through in the evenings.

Well, enough for now. I wish everyone the best of luck with any upcoming hunts you have planned.

One Happy Hunter,
