No Bucks for Me

I can honestly say I tried but with no success. We hunted and hunted for those nice trophy bucks that I have seen on the property and couldn't push them by anyone in my family. I did see one nice one taken on a side road near the property but I couldn't identify it as one of "my" three trophies hanging around. It was a decent morning to hunt on Saturday. Deer were moving as we heard several gun shots near and all around us. My mother did get a doe. My dad, my brother, my brother-in-law and I all got button bucks. So, overall, we had 6 hunters and 4 button bucks and 1 doe taken. Not bad, my sister was the only one that didn't get a take a doe but she also was limited in her hunting days, just had a baby. Actually, she should have had one, we had pushed a couple of doe out past her on Friday but when she went to shoot, all she got was a click. Apparently, the gun was oiled to much and didn't fire. She could have gotten one of those but sometimes that happens.

There is still muzzeloader season and second archery season for us in Pa. It will depend on the weather for archery. I placed the cameras out again to see if the bucks made it through rifle season. I hope they did since I didn't get a shot at any of them. We did see a six point, a four point (on 3 different occassions), a 2 point half rack, and a spike. Not bad I guess. I will keep you posted as the hunting continues after christmas with muzzeloader season.

Until then

One happy hunter,
